First Session = Evaluation
Your first visit serves as an evaluation to determine if this program is the right fit. Participants who are accepted typically demonstrate a willingness to listen, follow directions, take initiative, maintain a positive attitude, and treat others with respect. This program is best suited for participants who are ready to engage independently in a group setting.

Program Overview
Ranch Hands is a working, hands-on horsemanship program designed to build responsibility, independence, and a true understanding of horses.

Participants are involved in real horse care and barn work while learning how horses think, move, and respond. This is not a drop-in riding program. Students are expected to participate, follow direction, and contribute to the group.

What’s Included

• 4 hours of hands-on barn time 
• Grooming, chores, tack cleaning, and horse care 
• Groundwork and horse handling 
• Horsemanship education tailored to both the horse and the participant 
• Riding in the round pen as a skill-based component (when appropriate) 

Riding
Riding is included, but it is not the focus of the program. It is used as a tool to build balance, awareness, and communication, not as a lesson or recreational activity.

Not all sessions include riding.

Trail Riding
We do not offer trail riding as part of Ranch Hands.

Trail riding is part of a separate, earned program called Trail Ready Ranch Hands. Participation in Trail Ready Ranch Hands is by instructor recommendation only, for participants who have demonstrated they can safely handle and control their horse without assistance.

Helmets and Boots
We have an assortment of helmets and boots available for use. Helmets are cleaned after each use.

Booking Multiple Days
Select and “Book” each date you want, then check out in one transaction.

Ages: 8 and up*
Cost: $65 per 3-hour session (50% discounted rate)
Schedule: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Overview:
Designed for homeschool families, this program teaches responsibility and independence through hands-on horsemanship. Students are supervised while learning every aspect of horse care—from grooming and feeding to tacking, chores, and riding.

What to Expect:

• 3-hour sessions, 1–4 times per month
   
• Activities include horsemanship classes, riding, and care tasks, as well as some writing and science activities.
   
• Each participant cares for a specific horse during their session
   
• Focus is on learning and bonding, not just riding
   

Important Note:
Riding may be included depending on readiness and the horse’s needs, but it’s not guaranteed every session.

Trail Riding
We do not offer trail riding as part of Ranch Hands.

Veteran and Law Enforcement Horse Time

Schedule: By appointment
Cost: Free for veterans and law enforcement officers

Relaxed, hands-on time with horses for veterans and active or retired law enforcement officers. Includes horse handling, grooming, and care in a supportive environment.

Builds: Stress relief, connection, and purpose through interaction with horses.

Adult Horsemanship Sessions

Schedule:

• Ranch Hands (Combined Group): Saturdays, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Ages 8+; adults and youth participate together)
   
• Adult-Only Session: Occasionally offered Saturdays, 9:00–11:00 AM or by request during the week (Ages 18+)
   

Cost:

• $125 for four-hour Ranch Hands group
   
• $95 for two-hour adult-only session (may be private or include another adult)

Overview:
Adults are welcome in our Ranch Hands program, which offers a hands-on horsemanship experience focused on horse care, teamwork, and real barn life. 

Most adult participants join the mixed-age Ranch Hands class, where adults and youth learn and work together. If you prefer an adult-only session, we offer these less frequently and as our schedule allows.

What to Expect:

• Grooming, chores, tacking, and horsemanship activities
   
• Time to connect with our senior horses
   
• Learning and skill-building for all experience levels
   
• Riding is not guaranteed and is just one part of the program
   
• Helmets and boots available
   

How to Book:
To join a regular Ranch Hands class, adults (and youth) can book online. Just select your dates below for the Saturday Ranch Hand sessions and sign up. If you are interested in an adult-only session, please contact us to discuss availability. We’ll let you know if the session will be private or with another adult.

Payments:
All payments are non-refundable.

Family Horse Time is a hands-on, shared experience where your group connects with our horses through brushing, grooming, light chores, and an introductory round pen lesson. This program now also includes what was previously offered through our Barn Buddies program for younger (peewee) children, allowing families with children of all ages to participate together.

Most sessions last around two hours and may include approximately 30–45 minutes of riding time, depending on group size, ages of children and expectations of event, weather, and horse availability.

Cost: Typically $125–$325 (depends on number of participants and session length)

Schedule: By appointment

• Quality time together while learning about real horse care
   
• Grooming, hands-on interaction, and simple barn chores
   
• Riding may be included when appropriate and safe
   
• Up to four riders at one time, depending on size and weight limits (most horses have a 140–180 lb limit)
   
• You’re welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy under our covered shelter while watching family members interact with the horses
   

• We do not host birthday parties or large group events. A small, private family birthday visit is fine; just let us know when booking so we can be sure it’s a good fit for the space and the horses.
   
• For safety and quality of experience, sessions are limited to small family groups. If you’re unsure whether your group fits, just ask: we’re happy to help.
   
• Each visit is customized to your group while prioritizing horse wellbeing and participant safety.

If you disagree with a section (such as photo usage), please print out a hard copy located on the home page of this website, and initial the parts you do agree with and bring with you. You will not be allowed to participate without a waiver.
