Our Horsemanship Camp is a hands-on, immersive experience designed to build responsibility, confidence, and independence through real work with horses. Campers are closely supervised, but they are expected to participate fully: caring for their horse, completing daily tasks, and working together as a team.
This is not a drop-off riding camp. Riding is an important part of the week, but the foundation is horsemanship. Campers learn how to care for a horse, read behavior, stay safe, and develop balance, awareness, and respect on the ground and in the saddle.
We ride most days, with each day offering a different focus:
All riding and activities are adjusted to the horse and rider’s readiness. Safety and horse welfare always come first.
Daily Schedule
Mornings: Horse Time
Lunch: Pack a Lunch!
Afternoons: Education, Crafts, OFF the horse time, such as brushing, bathing, filling water troughs, Horse Spa time, body painting and braiding, or watch short shows or documentaries. (Such as Mr. Ed)
Helmets and boots are required. We have a selection of helmets and boots available for campers to use, and helmets are cleaned after each use.
Please note: while we ride most days, riding is not guaranteed every session and we are flexicle based on the needs of the horses. It is one part of a broader horsemanship experience that emphasizes care, safety, and partnership with the horse.
All deposits are non-refundable. Balance is due the first day of camp.

In addition to our week-long camps, we offer individual Ranch Hand Days throughout the summer.
Our Summer Ranch Hand Days are offered on select Wednesdays and Thursdays when we are not hosting camp. Participants may register for one day or as many days as they’d like.
Dates:
Wednesdays: June 24, July 8, 15, 22, 29
Thursdays: June 25, July 9, 16, 23, 30
This is a working ranch day.
Students are supervised but expected to participate fully in the care of the horses and the barn. They will groom, feed, clean stalls, tack, and ride when appropriate, while learning practical horsemanship skills. Riding is part of the experience, but not the focus. The focus is responsibility, confidence, and learning how to be someone a horse can trust.
A typical day may include:
• Barn chores and horse health checks
• Grooming and tacking
• Riding or groundwork
• Bareback balance or drill practice
• Trail riding when appropriate
• Team problem-solving exercises
We keep groups small to protect both the horses and the quality of experience. This is hands-on, real work, and students leave tired in the best way.

First Session = Evaluation
Your first visit serves as an evaluation to determine if this program is the right fit. Participants who are accepted typically demonstrate a willingness to listen, follow directions, take initiative, maintain a positive attitude, and treat others with respect. This program is best suited for participants who are ready to engage independently in a group setting.
Program Overview
Ranch Hands is a working, hands-on horsemanship program designed to build responsibility, independence, and a true understanding of horses.
Participants are involved in real horse care and barn work while learning how horses think, move, and respond. This is not a drop-in riding program. Students are expected to participate, follow direction, and contribute to the group.
What’s Included
Riding
Riding is included, but it is not the focus of the program. It is used as a tool to build balance, awareness, and communication, not as a lesson or recreational activity.
Not all sessions include riding.

Trail riding is part of a separate, earned program called Trail Ready Ranch Hands. Participation in Trail Ready Ranch Hands is by instructor recommendation only, for participants who have demonstrated they can safely handle and control their horse without assistance.
Helmets and Boots
We have an assortment of helmets and boots available for use. Helmets are cleaned after each use.
Payments
All payments are non-refundable.

Overview:
Stable Paths is a free equine-assisted substance abuse prevention program for youth affected by alcohol or addiction—whether personally or within their families. Participants work hands-on with rescued senior horses and receive mentorship from licensed drug and alcohol counselors and volunteers from the recovery community.
What Makes It Different:
Youth take full responsibility for their assigned horse’s care—feeding, grooming, and handling basic medical needs. These horses often have special care requirements due to age or trauma, encouraging participants to develop empathy, patience, and problem-solving skills. Horses provide real-time, nonjudgmental feedback, helping youth build emotional awareness, confidence, and trust.
Life Skills in Action:
Through horse-handling exercises, participants learn leadership, emotional regulation, boundary-setting, and clear communication. These experiences translate directly into everyday life.
Lunch & Connection:
Each session includes a provided lunch where youth and mentors gather for relaxed, meaningful conversation. These mealtime talks often become the heart of the day — a chance to reflect, connect, and support each other in a safe, judgment-free space.
Riding:
While not guaranteed, riding may be offered to participants who show responsibility, respect, and readiness.
Attendance Matters:
Because this is a free and limited-space program, we ask participants to honor their commitment. Missing a session may prevent another youth from having the chance to join.
Also, please note that if you are trying to sign up for this class because it is free, please contact us and we will get your child a scholarship or subsidized tuition in the Ranch Hands program. We talk about intense things at times in Stable Paths that is not appropriate for kids not in these circumstances.
Scheduling:
Offered on select Saturdays throughout the year, depending on available funding. Thanks to our generous supporters, Stable Paths remains free and accessible—giving youth a safe, meaningful way to grow and heal through the power of horses.
You can register for one or all sessions, whatever your schedule allows.

Trail Ready Ranch Hands
Trail Ready Ranch Hands is an earned extension of our Ranch Hands program. Participants take part in the same hands-on horse care, chores, groundwork, and horsemanship activities as Ranch Hands, but the riding portion is expanded to include trail riding (weather permitting), rather than remaining in the round pen.
This program is not open enrollment. Participation is by instructor recommendation only and is based on consistent listening, awareness, and safe horse handling over time.
Program Overview
Trail Ready Ranch Hands provides the opportunity to take skills learned in Ranch Hands beyond the round pen and into a real-world setting. Participants are expected to manage their horse independently, stay aware of their surroundings, and respond appropriately at all times.
Trail rides are structured, supervised, and kept intentionally small to ensure the safety of both riders and horses.
Scheduling
Trail Ready Ranch Hands sessions are scheduled infrequently. Please contact us directly to check availability and upcoming dates.
How to Schedule
Contact us first to confirm availability. Once scheduled, make your payment using the button here. Payment holds your spot. Spaces are limited and may fill quickly if payment isn’t received.
Important Notes
Participation in this program is by instructor recommendation only. Not all Ranch Hands participants will move into Trail Ready, and readiness is based on demonstrated consistency over time, not experience alone.
Family Horse Time is a hands-on, shared experience where your group connects with our horses through brushing, grooming, light chores, and an introductory round pen lesson. This program now also includes what was previously offered through our Barn Buddies program for younger (peewee) children, allowing families with children of all ages to participate together.
Most sessions last around two hours and may include approximately 30–45 minutes of riding time, depending on group size, ages of children and expectations of event, weather, and horse availability.
Cost: Typically $125–$325 (depends on number of participants and session length)
Schedule: By appointment
Please contact us directly to discuss availability and pricing for your group.
Please sign a digital waiver to complete your registration. The waiver will require all sections to be completed. If you disagree with a section (such as photo usage), please print out a hard copy located on the home page of this website, and initial the parts you do agree with and bring with you. You will not be allowed to participate without a waiver.

We know policies aren’t fun to read — but they help protect the horses, the kids, and the barn environment we all love. Here are a few key takeaways:
