A Whole Horse Experience Focused on Safety

From Hooves to Ears!

About Us

The Whole Horse Place is a unique horse experience for the average person with little or no horse exposure.  We offer many affordable program options for individuals or groups. Our approach to teaching horsemanship begins and ends with safety first.  Teaching you to be in control of your horse at all times is our primary concern, and from that foundation all other aspects of horsemanship will be successful.

We are located on the beautiful Kitsap Peninsula with miles and miles of scenic trails, wildlife, beaver ponds, and breathtaking mountain views. Experience serenity and enjoy.

Our Mission

Our mission is to enrich lives with our horses. We teach all aspects of horsemanship, "From Hooves to Ears", and give you the time to establish relationships with these most excellent creatures. We are NOT just a riding facility! They say there is nothing better for the inside of a person than the outside of a horse, and we believe it.

Our Horse becomes YOUR horse; Your DAY, Your WAY! Pay per day and select any date(s) on list. One time or every time. You choose. You will receive a list of your horse's requirements that day (clean his/her stall, fill waters, feed, give medicines if necessary, etc.) and a list of activities to learn and enjoy. We will cover the basics with you and offer lessons, trail riding, quiet time with your horse and much more. Want to trail ride to the beaver ponds and have a picnic lunch? Stay in the round pen and have a lesson? Spend quiet smoochy and carrot time just you and your favorite horse? As long as no one is unsupervised and we have enough staff to cover multiple activities if the group wants to do different things, then the day is yours to do as you choose. Bring your family or friend and do it together! Or spend the day all to yourself. No one rides alone, and no one is unsupervised, but we work within those perimeters and have a wonderful time.

This is a working experience at a barn, the real deal. Hands on horsemanship every day. Includes horsemanship class, riding, lessons, education, and lots of chores. This is horse ownership in every aspect. Take care of, enjoy, and appreciate everything your horse needs the days you are here. A typical day might start with grooming, personal time with horse, chores, tacking up and riding, education pertaining to your needs and the needs of your horse, and taking care of anything that needs doing. You will receive a checklist with your horse's needs and your responsibilities, you will be supervised and instructed on how to do that checklist, and what you do, when you do it, is up to you. No one rides alone, and you are supervised at all times, and you enjoy your horse how you want to.

WE DO NOT RUN OUR HORSES! Depending on the horse you have; you might be able to trot in roundpen if you are at that skill level. We have SENIOR horses and they are not asked to do more than a walk unless they are up for it in roundpen in a lesson.

Monday-Friday (mix and match dates. They do NOT have to be on the same week.) If a date is not listed, or you can not book it online; it has been filled.
